CELINE 2019 summer collection
With the opening of the CELINE flagship store in Tokyo’s Omotesando on Feb. 25, this will be the first men's line to debut in Japan. In addition, CELINE men's counters will be opened at the Isetan Men's Wear section in Tokyo and the Hankyu Department Store Men's Wear section in Osaka from Feb. 27. To commemorate the launch of CELINE’s menswear in Japan, the brand is about to release a limited edition item in collaboration with artist Christian Marclay in the 19th summer collection.
Louis Vuitton 2019 SS collection pop-up event
Considered as one of the biggest changes in the CELINE brand, the launch of the men's wear line is unheard of in its archives. Although it is highly controversial in the fashion industry, the efforts of major luxury brands in men's wear in recent years cannot be underestimated. At the beginning of this year, Louis Vuitton launched a series of spring and summer men's wear pre-sale pop up stores in major cities such as Tokyo and New York. The various eye-catching items and unique deployment methods attracted a lot of attention. This flash event is also to commemorate the first series after the new menswear design director, Virgil Abloh took office. Prior to Virgil Abloh’s appointment, Kim Jones was menswear design director at Louis Vuitton 7 years ago and then moved to Dior Homme for his first Pre-fall Collection show in Tokyo for Nov. 2018 creating unprecedented attention. In this catwalk, he collaborated with Japanese modern artist Hajime Sorayama. In the center of the venue, he not only erected a 11-meter-high "erotic robot", many of which also contained elements of his artwork. The event brought together the world's most popular stars, models, and women in an unforgettable event in the fashion industry. Kim Jones also released a collaboration with the street fashion brand Supreme at Louis Vuitton, which is still fresh in memory.
CHANEL Men's Makeup
Throughout the fashion circle, this year from high street brands to luxury brands, the rise of various large-scale events and designers suggests that menswear seems to be welcoming a new era. Receiving the revival of today's hip-hop culture and the influence of street culture, men's wear has not only been a custom-made suit, but the variety of clothing styles and accessories have increased dramatically. Together with the limited amount of cross-border cooperation, men’s wear has expanded. Not long ago, CHANEL released their first men's makeup collection, but the single-piece products have grown in the market. This phenomenon for contemporary men not only satisfies the monotonous stereotype of fashion, but have a higher pursuit in beauty. Instead of worrying about whether men's clothing will steal the limelight of women's wear, it is better to appreciate the surprise what the future will bring to the fashion industry.
