Japan|EYEVAN Capsule Collection and Collaboration with Artist, Tokujin Yoshioka

OPTEC JAPAN CORPORATION’s eyewear brand, EYEVAN is bringing back their hit 1980s frames and sunglasses in their first “Capsule Collection” coming to stores from August 1st. The collection combines contemporary innovative technology with Sabae city’s 100 year old traditional craftsmanship. The models “E-0505” and “E-0501” which was popular in the 80s, was revived using the technique using soft rim plastic in-lay in the metal frame. Each 6 frames have 5 colours.

Releasing on the same day, EYEVAN’s collaboration with Japanese designer and artist, Tokujin Yoshioka, whose works are on display at the permanent collection at the New York, MoMA and the Center Pompidou of the Paris Museum of Art. Yoshioka designed the "EYEVAN × Tokujin.y" spectacles in mind that he would wear them on a daily basis. The stereoscopic modeling is made by the outstanding handicrafts of craftworkers in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture, in titanium and acetate.
