China|2018 Tmall ‘Singles Day’ Event Breaks Through a Total of 39 Billion

The 2018 Tmall Singles Day Event ended on an astounding note. The total turnover of the day reached approximately US$ 39 billion, an increase of about 27% over 2017. This year, it took only 2 minutes and 05 seconds to set a record of US$ 1.4 billion in transactions. At 1:47:26 on the 11th, the transaction record exceeded US$ 14.4 billion. At 15:49:39 in the afternoon, it broke the record with a total turnover of US$ 24 billion.

According to official data, the apparel brands that entered the “24 Billion Top Sales” list within 30 minutes after the event started were: Nike, Uniqlo, Adidas, Senma, Jack Jones, Belle, GXG, ONLY, Camel Footwear Group, Bosideng, veromoda, and Anta. Make-up brands include: Procter & Gamble and Baique Antelope. As of 12 o'clock on the 11th, the top Chinese province participants were: Guangdong Province, the second was in Zhejiang Province, the third was in Jiangsu Province, while Beijing and Shanghai were ranked 4th and 5th respectively.

The table below is the final trading index of the three categories in women's wear, men's wear and beauty. The first to rank at the top of women's wear is Japanese brand, Uniqlo, while the second is Chinese brand, ONLY, with third being Danish brand, VERO MODA, and Spanish brand, ZARA ranked at 10th place. The first place in men's wear is also Uniqlo, the second is Chinese brand, GXG, while the third is Chinese brand, Taiping Bird, and Swedish brand, JACK & JONES ranked at 5th place. The first beauty is the French brand, Lancome, the second is American brand, Olay, the third is French brand, L'Oreal, then Japanese brand, SK-II ranked at 5th place, and finally Korean brand, innisfree at 10th place.
