"I met Ciesay and Sol in London four years ago when GUESS was doing a pop up collab with A$AP Rocky. We come from the same scene and had the same ideas and when we met again at Miami Art Basel, we talked about doing something and finally with last year’s Los Angeles Farmer’s Market, we finally got down to talking about the whole thing and things started rolling after. For this collection, PLACES + FACES were on the same wavelengths as GUESS and with Ciesay and Sol, they delved into GUESS’s archive breathing in the history of advertising and photography scene of the streetwear world." says Nicolai.
Imran Ciesay added, “PLACES + FACES rarely does collabs and with GUESS we felt a similar synergy as both brands use photography as our medium and inspiration. We were inspired by the campaigns from GUESS from iconographs such as Anna Nicole Smith, and Naomi Campbell. We’ve used denim and knit added reflective materials to complete the visuals and we’re very excited with this collab. "
The line up features basketballs, denim jackets, bathrobes, vests, bumbags, colour cups and more catering to both men and women. All items retail from 6000 yen to 120,000 yen (tax excluded), and is sold exclusively sold at Laforet Harajuku’s select shop, GR8.
